COMUNA - BUNYOLA

Recreation area Comuna in Bunyola is well hidden in the mountains. You have to follow a rather narrow road almost 4 Km. At the same time you drive 300-400 meters up. The view from the road up is fantastic. On a weekday in the spring you may meet no other cars. In the week end, the place must be busy, because it is only 14 Km. from Palma.

To get there, first head for Bunyola. If you come from the Soller road, you must drive through the village towards Sta. Maria. 300 meters before you leave Bunyola, you turn left. There is a small sign on the right side of the road reading: "Comuna" . It is very easy to miss this road. Half way up you pass a green gate. If closed You can open it, but then close it again.

At the end of the road, you find a small stone house, 10 grill places, benches and bins for garbage. There is a well, but the water is not for drinking, and it was locked with pad lock. Camping is prohibited. In the area there are possibility for walking excursions. Short ones, or long. Basically you can walk in the mountains from here to Pollença. A map in 1:75000, or better is needed. Don't get lost, you are off the beaten track.
